The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Senior Administrator, Core Virtualisation. This job is full-time permanent.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Contribute to the administration and optimization of the VMware environment and server hardware;
• Contribute to the Hyper Converged Server hardware administration and optimization;
• Perform an analysis of the health, capacity planning as well as the tendencies of the Core Infrastructure environments;
• Create and maintain proper documentation and procedures;
• Put together processes and automation in order to increase the efficiency of the environment;
• Participate in projects implementation and delivery; may also be required to lead some internal initiatives or projects related to Core Infrastructure services;
• Actively participate in the management of changes and problems;
• Maintain updated performance indicators;
• Improve the availability and the continuity of the environment.
Key Skills:
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools;
• You have a sense of urgency, attention to detail and understanding of the role of IT in the business;
• You have strong teamwork skills and are able to demonstrate ownership and leadership;
• You have the ability to create and define metrics that accurately reflects the current state of the infrastructure.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
• You hold a College degree in information technology;
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in administration in a major environment;
• You have very good knowledge of VMware ESXi, vSAN virtualization technology, VMWare VCP certification;
• You have experience in iSCSI SAN & NAS technologies (HPe Nimble, Alletra, Dell/EMC VMAX);
• You have general server hardware knowledge and of Data Center administration;
• You have general knowledge of security awareness and ITIL knowledge;
• You have general knowledge as well as experience with DR (Disaster Recovery);
• You have good written and verbal communication skills (French and English);
• You are comfortable and capable of evolving in a 24X7 production environment;
• This position requires availability outside regular business hours (oncall rotation).
