Job Title: Learning Assistant (Temporary)School Name: St. Mary�s SchoolAssignment Type: TemporaryFTE of Assignment: 0.79Hours of Assignment: 5.5 hours/dayAssignment Start Date: November 27, 2024Assignment End Date: June 26, 2025Primary Responsibilities: Assist students with social and emotional regulation, fostering a supportive environment for individual development.Support communication and language development while fostering positive peer relationships.Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and staff to support students in an inclusive educational setting.Reinforce classroom-taught skills, encouraging active student engagement in both classroom and school-wide activities.Qualifications and Skills Required: Education: Child and Youth Care Diploma, Education Assistant Certificate, or an ideal combination of related education and experience.Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking, team-oriented environment.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with both students and school staff.Additional Training: Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) training is considered an asset (training will be provided if not already completed).Compliance Requirements: A current Criminal Records Check.An Alberta Children's Services Intervention Record Check.This role is designed for an individual who is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, with the skills to support students' emotional and social growth.
