SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the estimating of pre-construction and site development projects, including new store construction and site development, ensuring construction projects meet Company and industry standards, budgets and pricing.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares cost estimates/budgets for pre-construction and site development assigned projects
- Monitoring and reviewing pre-construction estimates through stages of design development from start of design to tender drawings to ensure completeness ready for contractor bid
- Reviews site reports, collect site specific estimates for civil, servicing and landscaping and include in cost development estimates for assigned projects.
- Reviews tender bid responses to confirm the costs reflect scope and estimate.
- Identify opportunities for savings based on constructability review with PMs and GCs.
- Generates and monitors project cost summaries versus estimates.
- Keeps up to date on applicable standards for retail businesses, new regulations, and best practices to ensure competitive, optimal project costs.
- Performs administrative tasks as required by the direct supervisor.
- Assembles assigned project budgets into financial forms to be submitted to the planning team
- Oversees development and training of estimator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in engineering, construction, or quantity surveying
- Construction estimation experience of 10 years plus
- Grocery experience preferred however not required.
- Data analytics with use of Excel required and Power BI an asset.
