A career as a Principal Data Engineering Developer in the Data Management and Valorization team for individuals - Data Foundation at National Bank means acting as an Analytics Data Specialist.

You will work on data engineering projects such as designing databases, creating data pipelines for data ingestion, cleansing, and transformation, and optimizing the performance of data processing systems.

Your job

  • Participate in data modeling and pipeline implementation to support different business needs such as sending personalized customer surveys and measuring the impact of these initiatives.
  • Implement data quality monitoring solutions.
  • Optimize SQL and Spark jobs to improve data processing.
  • Influence business lines in the organization and presentation of data and participate in data strategy
  • Take charge of complex initiatives or unusual situations involving creativity and excellent knowledge of the different facets of engineering and data analysis;
  • Participate in the identification and documentation of authoritative data sources that meet the needs of our business lines
  • Design, automate and implement real-time data integration solutions that meet the needs of the sector, in accordance with best practices at the Bank;
  • Implement and monitor performance indicators related to data analysis;
  • Determine data analytics infrastructure needs and evolve the technology environment accordingly.

Within the Data Management and Valorization of Individuals sector, you are part of a large team of 9 colleagues and report to the Senior Director Data Foundation. Prerequisite

  • Relevant field training with 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Strong understanding of data models, structures, management, and engineering.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and prototyping, including data modeling (e.g., Data Vault, Dimensional).
  • Hands-on experience with big data manipulation using Pandas or Spark.
  • Skilled in one or more data manipulation languages: SAS, SQL, Python, Spark.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and/or Databricks.
