A career as a Senior Advisor in the Legal Affairs - Governance (Corporate Secretary’s Office) team at National Bank means actively contributing to the governance of the Bank's subsidiaries. This role allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through your expertise in corporate governance and corporate law, your attention to detail, and your strong interpersonal skills.


Your Role:

  • Oversee the governance of certain subsidiaries, ensuring the corporate records are up to date and acting as Corporate Secretary during board meetings.
  • Coordinate the filing of required corporate and regulatory reports.
  • Participate in strategic projects such as corporate reorganizations or the organization of the Bank’s annual shareholders’ meeting.
  • Provide legal advice on files impacting the Bank’s operations and its subsidiaries.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in corporate law.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance tools, processes, and standards.

Your Team:

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Governance within Legal Affairs (Corporate Secretary’s Office) of the Bank. We are looking for a legal advisor who loves a challenge, who aspires to innovate and who wishes to experience personal growth in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team.

Basic requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law with 7 to 10 years of experience.
  • Membership in the Bar of Quebec, Ontario, New York State, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • Knowledge of securities law is an asset.
  • Expertise in corporate law and corporate governance.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously with rigor and pragmatism.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen.
