The Logistics Coordinator for In-Flight Service (Catering) works under the supervision of the In-Flight Service Manager and is responsible for coordinating and implementing catering services on flights, ensuring that all catering services are delivered on time and to the required standard. They are also responsible for ensuring that all catering services are delivered in compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.

responsibilities:
  • Planning and coordination: Plan, organize, and supervise daily catering operations for flights. Ensure effective coordination between suppliers, ground teams, crews, and other internal services.
  • Procurement: Coordinate the purchase of meals, merchandise, etc. according to the necessary stocks.
  • Quality control: Ensure that all products and services meet the required standards of quality, freshness, and hygiene.
  • Inventory management: Coordinate activities related to orders, inventory management, receipt of goods, storage, and distribution within the department.
  • Process optimization: Regularly evaluate current departmental processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement changes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of processes.
  • Safety and compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety standards (MAPAQ, CFIA, etc.), as well as local and international aviation regulations.
  • Liaison with cabin crews: Work closely with flight directors and crews to ensure a clear understanding of the specific needs of each flight.
  • Claims management: Quickly process complaints or issues related to catering service and implement corrective measures.
  • Training: Ensure ongoing training of the team on best practices, safety standards, and customer service requirements.
  • Reporting and analysis: Prepare regular reports on departmental performance and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction levels.
  • Support the In-Flight Service Manager for any other tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma in logistics, procurement, or related field, an asset.
  • Previous experience in catering, preferably in the aviation sector.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and aviation regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Mandatory forklift training (available internally).
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • General understanding of English, both spoken and written, in order to communicate with suppliers.
