Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil & Systems Estimator to join our team! We are looking to hire experience estimators who have experience in Civil Engineering projects and Systems Engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Systems Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for line-wide systems elements (i.e. signaling and train control, communications, traction power distribution, fare collection system) of the project, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Civil Cost Estimation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil elements (i.e. Stations, facilities, ancillary buildings, trackwork, utilities) of the project, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Estimate Validation: Review quantities against proposed design and technical specifications to validate material requirements and ensuring best measuring practice have been implemented
- Quality Control: Review estimates for accuracy, consistency, completeness and contractual compliance before formal submission.
- Relationship Management: Maintaining strong relationships with the Project Co to ensure consistent quality and compliance throughout the joint estimation process
- Contract Management: Reviewing contracts, change orders, and submittals to ensure all provided estimates align with project requirements.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely design and construction teams, scheduling and risk teams, independent estimators, independent value assessors and other critical stakeholders to ensure estimates accurately reflect the scope and complexities of the project
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience) and typically 8+ years of related work experience involving typical estimating activities.
- Previous experience using estimating database supported software.
- Professional certifications in construction estimating (e.g., from AACE or ASPE).
- 10 years experience in estimating within the construction industry, with at least 5 years’ specific estimating experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of EPC estimating methods, processes, and procedures, in addition to the estimate types, classifications, and components.
- Excellent working knowledge of unit rates for materials, labor, and equipment specific to civil projects.
Measure of Success
- Based on the ability for the individual to ensure that the estimate for the Target Price contract’s is being delivered in a method that balances cost, schedule, risk, value for money and our relationship with our Contractor.
