Senior Manager, Data Engineering, Auto Finance

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager Data Engineering is accountable for managing and supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a resilient data infrastructure for Automotive Finance, to facilitate the automation of data processes, data management, governance, and democratization. This role will leverage diverse data to enable deep dive analytics and modelling, to generate deeper understanding of client, product, performance, and competitive dynamics.

What will you do?

• Lead the development, enhancement, maintenance and governance of a resilient data infrastructure and foundation (for organizational, industry, and external data), including data-driven methodologies and tools.

• Create, manage and facilitate the automation of ETL processes, business intelligence reports and dashboards, using data engineering and BI best practices.

• Design, build & automate performance reports and dashboards, to facilitate day-to-day oversight and monitoring of key performance metrics and portfolio segments.

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert to provide data governance and security expertise ensuring linkage across all sources and all reporting produced to optimize accuracy, efficiencies and manage redundancies.

• Lead effort to assess any new data management systems and processes. Provide input on business requirements for data management needs relating to infrastructure, systems, and technology development.

• Support advanced analytics to inform product, client, profitability, and operational strategies, through the derivation and communication of key insights and actionable recommendations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• 5+ years related work experience dealing with financial products and large, complex datasets.

• Strong data engineering and data management experience working with diverse data sources and formats.

• Proven ability to design, develop and deliver best-in-class BI dashboards, performance reporting, and analytical solutions, using visualization applications such as Tableau.

• High proficiency with statistical and data mining tools such as SAS, SQL and Python, to mine and analyze large amounts of data.

• Inquisitive thinker with strong business acumen, and the ability to apply superior data knowledge & data discovery skills into building effective analysis and insights.

• Excellent collaboration skills to build strong working partnerships with data/analytics COEs, business partners, and stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Experience with the Enterprise Data Lake.

• Experience or strong knowledge of data science methodologies and practices.

• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to use data to influence decision-making.

• Experience in the Commercial business and data.
