Our expectations

As a CDO 2020 Associate on a 6-month contract, you will be responsible for delivering superior customer service to our Store's Kitchen Specialists by reviewing their designs, ensuring the plans meet Building code, Installation standards and NKBA guidelines. As well as designing Kitchens using 20/20 computer-aided drafting software supporting associates at those stores who may not have a Kitchen Specialist. Working from specifications provided by Kitchen Sales Specialists, you will prepare detailed designs that meet customer needs and create interior spaces that reflect their tastes. You may need to follow up with the store Sales Specialist for additional information to complete the design project. Cross-training with the Kitchen Sales Specialist role may be required. Your designs must comply with NKBA guidelines and Canada Building Code regulations.

Your role

  • Collaborate with 20/20 CDO associates to find solutions when problems arise.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including quick revisions and other ongoing responsibilities.
  • Utilize time management skills to ensure the timely completion of design requests.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in the 20/20 design program, NKBA standards, Canada Building Code, and spatial awareness.
  • Complete an average of 3 to 4 designs per day.
  • Communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with store specialists, ASMs, FSMs, and other stakeholders daily.
  • Comply with all performance criteria, standards of conduct, and disciplinary procedures as outlined in the New Employee Orientation Guide, Employment Package, Store Operations Policy Procedure Manual, Human Resource Management Guide, Code of Ethics, Merchandise Maintenance programs, and Safety programs.
  • Meet all applicable PPA, PDP, or STAR review standards.

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, with knowledge of weights and measures.
  • Ability to understand and respond to basic customer and employee inquiries..
  • Understanding of the company's mission, purpose, and goals, and the role of the employee in achieving them.
  • Experience with CAD design or 20/20 software is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Interior Design, or any other Design or Construction course, is an asset.
  • Maintain expertise in relevant computer systems and vendor catalogs required for design work.
  • Knowledge of NKBA Guidelines and Canada Building Code Regulations.
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead, demonstrate, and coach effective design techniques within the centralized 20/20 team.
