SCHOOL: South Okanagan Secondary School POSTING: #64 - 2024/25 POSITION: Secondary English Teacher APPOINTMENT: 1.0 FTE Temporary DURATION START DATE: January 29, 2025 to June 30, 2025 Qualifications Required: degree in secondary education and an English major or minor required; recent successful classroom experience teaching at the secondary level in the subject area(s); ability to adapt curriculum, programs, and instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students; ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness; knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices; demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level; effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills; ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
