Our valued non-profit client is seeking a Bilingual Assistant Director to plan, manage, and coordinate the delivery of Technology & Information Management programs and services!


Permanent full-time role in Ottawa, ON. The successful candidate must be available to work in a hybrid on-site schedule in Ottawa, ON (2 days/week in office) with occasional travel (5-15%) across the country.


As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for overseeing six teams (23 people total), including a Manager of Data Solutions & Analytics that will be directly reporting to you.


Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of the Technology and Information Management Sections that support the operational goals and objectives of the organization
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate the delivery of Technology, and Information Management programs and services within the organization
  • Oversee the management of financial and human resources
  • Manage relationships with external service providers
  • Lead and coach work teams and lead cross-organizational projects which fall under the following areas of expertise:
  • Application Development
  • Integrations & System Needs
  • Member Information Management
  • Systems and Network Services
  • User Support
  • Records and Information Management


Must Have Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (BBB Equivalency or Higher)
  • Demonstrated background leading teams to deliver Information Management & Information Technology (IM/IT) projects involving data analytics, network operations, cybersecurity, desktop support, or systems/application development.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive and technically sound advice to management, computer users and technical staff in specific technical and business analysis and process areas.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating system and end-user documentation including requirements definitions, flowcharts, Gantt charts, data flow diagrams and training documents.


Nice to Have Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and understand the functionality of existing data analytics and reporting with the use of current/emerging tools & dashboards.
  • Existing understanding of trade union and equity principles and understanding of the sensitive political and social issues within a trade union.
