LOB: Global Asset Management
Duration: 24 months
Location: Downtown Toronto - Hybrid (3x per week in office, flexible but team goes in Tues-Thurs)
Role Mandate: We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as an Associate, Strategic Relationship Management. This role is focused on strengthening relationships with institutional clients, driving continuous service improvements, and supporting business retention through proactive engagement. The selected candidate will be supporting the Institutional segments team and primarily acting as a liaison for onboarding activities between customers and legal, compliance, AML, asset management, portfolio managers, operations, and business development teams.
Must-Have Skills:
• 4-6 years of relevant experience and education (Business/Finance/Stats degree).
• Growing understanding of relationship management and market dynamics.
• Previous banking/FI experience.
• Knowledge of Investment terms
• Proficient in data-driven decision-making and using insights to guide strategic actions.
• Proficient with Excel and PowerPoints
Nice To Have Skills:
• Experience with eVestments database
• Project management/coordination experience
• Previous experience with document collection and tracking.
Role Responsibilities:
• Strengthens relationships with institutional clients, ensuring business retention and delivering exceptional service.
• Coordinates relationship management activities with internal teams, including Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Indigenous Banking, Indigenous Trust, Commercial Banking, and other stakeholders.
• Proactive client engagement to identify and meet client needs.
• Works with senior staff on larger and/or more complex client relationships and issues.
• Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues and provide insights and recommendations based on data and business strategy.
• Develops, maintains, and executes a business plan, including relationship management strategies, to achieve retention objectives.
• Prepares client and market summaries as required and participates in industry and prospect events to grow presence in the marketplace.
• Provides timely and effective responses to client questions and issues, ensuring adherence to compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines.
• Monitors and tracks performance, addressing any issues and providing input into operational programs and product development.
• Demonstrates effective use of customer relationship management systems and other tools to support reporting and communication.
• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
• Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
