Int. Business Acceptance Testing Lead to perform test planning and ensure BAT criteria is met pre-production for our public sector client


Start Date: January 15, 2025 - July 15, 2025 (Approx.)

Term: 6 Months

Summary:


  • The Business Acceptance Testing Lead (“BAT Lead”) is a project role for business acceptance testing. Individuals in this role will provide test planning, potentially for multiple concurrent testing projects. Planning activities include the identification of testing strategies, scheduling of activities, and development of comprehensive testing plans and test scenarios.
  • The BAT Lead will act as an advocate for the business and lead the business acceptance phase of technological implementations by testing new technologies, managing defect triage, prioritization and remediation, and improvements to existing supported applications. They will provide guidance and direct testers from the business in executing the testing cycles as well as planning for handoffs between environments.
  • In the role, they will coordinate and monitor project progress to meet established deadlines and provide recommendations based on risk assessment, in consultation with management to ensure that Business Acceptance Testing exit criteria are met prior to moving to Production.
  • The BAT Lead will need to work collaboratively and constructively with external and internal clients allowing the business to implement improvement initiatives that support the entire organization


Knowledge Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Review all documentation prepared by the Project team (business requirements, use cases, functional specifications, technical and design documents);
  • Work collaboratively across operational boundaries to ensure the requirements are met.
  • Create detailed Test Plans and Summary Reports that are reviewed and approved. Create defect reports for the project team to review on a daily/weekly basis;
  • Manage test case creation and upload into test management software (HP ALM);
  • Participate in walkthrough meetings with the Project Team to discuss and provide feedback on the business requirements and technical documents;
  • Facilitate and or participate in daily meetings to discuss defects, discuss BAT status, progress, and blockers (if any), and change record walk-throughs prior to the implementation and post implementation.
  • Act as the main point of contact between Testers and Project Team members (including external vendors) on project status and issues/problem identification;
  • Validate and analyze defects created by the Testing Specialists and determine the priority and severity of the defect prior to forwarding to internal or external resources for resolution;
  • Track defects for resolution and re-test
  • Identify obstacles, develop and assess alternatives to resolve problem, identify best solution;
  • Develop and provide workarounds for business processes;
  • Conduct analysis on inquiries from clients regarding test results;
  • Provide on-site support to staff during and after all implementations, resolve and/or escalate any problems or issues raised. Participate in status calls during the implementation to provide updates. Recommend to implement the changes/enhancements to production in consultation with Manager as required;
  • Maintain library of all testing documentation from past, current and future projects (either in hard copy or accessible in a local drive) for reference purposes;
  • Stay current with all trends and changes, processes and system updates in application testing to be able to provide guidance and advice to the organization.
