Description
Our valued higher-education client is seeking an Intermediate Courseware Developer to develop eLearning materials and oversee the quality review process of new training materials
Initial 1-year contract with an optional one-year extension period. Contract to be performed remotely however team meetings will be required on a quarterly basis in Ottawa, ON (at a minimum). 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Develops eLearning content using Adobe Captivate, as guided by a Training Specialist and subject matter experts working on the project.
- Undertake quality review process for training materials, ensuring they follow internal eLearning standards and meet best practices in adult education and use of educational technologies.
- Provide expertise, guidance and coaching, where required, on how to apply quality assurance measures to videos, software simulations and learner assessments to improve the user experience.
- Provide informal guidance, coaching and support to new multimedia developer co-op students in their orientation, completion and self- and peer- review of eLearning projects.
Must Have Skills:
- 5+ years of experience developing eLearning projects, including the application of adult learning theories to produce interactive learning materials, software simulations and instructional guiding documents.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, In Design, Audition).
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in the use of Adobe Captivate (or equivalent rapid eLearning tool)
- Demonstrated expertise in the use of quality assurance methodologies and tools.
Nice to have Skills:
- Experience developing software simulations within large ERP projects, including knowledge of processes to stage data for training simulations.
- Experience using Adobe Captivate to create software simulations.
- Experience working in post-secondary education; knowledge of business operations in aRegistrar’s Office.
- Previous experience creating training for the use of a student information system.
