Our client is seeking an Intermediate Procurement Specialist to document process and support with RFX requirements for a public sector client (0513)


Please note that this is an onsite role in Edmonton.


Requirements:

  • 6+ years as a Procurement Analyst or Technical Writer working in or for the public sector, understanding the procurement processes (including and understanding of trade agreements and competitive bid law)
  • 6+ years of experience in executive stakeholder relationship management and engagement
  • 6+ years of experience assisting in reviewing, evaluating and providing test input
  • 6+ experience providing guidance to procurement officers and stakeholders to define, interpret and apply technical specifications for RFXs


Additional requirements:

  • SCMP Certification or equivalent courses and certification
  • 4+ years of experience with MS office suite
  • 4+ years of experience as a trainer on a large project in a public sector environment
  • 4+ years' experience managing complex programs to meet business outcomes
  • 4+ years' experience with professional research methodologies


Key responsibilities:

  • Draft and Write Specifications RFXs (Requests for proposals, quotes, information etc)
  • Develop detailed technical, functional, and performance-based specifications for a wide variety of goods.
  • Ensure specifications are clear, precise, and free from ambiguity to encourage fair competition among suppliers.
  • Use industry standards, public sector regulations, and organizational guidelines to shape the specifications and ensure accuracy and completeness of all technical documents.
  • Review and revise existing specifications to keep them current and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, quality, or potential disputes.
  • Understand all aspects of public sector procurement, including trade agreements and requirements for open, competitive tendering.
