Job Description: Position Title: UX Accessibility Consultant

Start/End Dates: 12/2/2024 - 6/1/2025

Work Location (Tax): 81 Bay 18th Floor

Duration: 6 months

Remote/Hybrid: once a week and every 2nd Friday

Office Location: 181 bay st 18th



As part of the Frontline User Experience (FLUX) team, you’ll ensure our employee-facing platforms and applications are universally accessible for employees of all abilities. You’ll work closely with the different UX disciplines - Content Writers, Visual Designers and UX Researchers. You’ll also closely collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers and QA Testers. You’ll ensure products and designs meet digital accessibility standards while providing the best banking experience for both employees and clients. You’ll make recommendations for design and build which align with The Bank's inclusive design standards so any employee using assisitive technologies can use our customer servicing tools.


How You’ll Succeed

• You’re an Accessibility Champion: You’ll help create an inclusive environment by making our stakeholders, development partners, executives and designers understand the need to consider accessibility with every design decision.

• You’re a WCAG Champion: You are comfortable citing and explaining WCAG to justify and support recommendations.


• Works closely with business analysts, business sponsors, project managers and IT teams to obtain and understand business requirements.

• Creates the design of user interface specifications, by applying client research, design standards, industry best practices, taking into account strategic business objectives, user needs, systems constraints.

• Participates in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.

• Executes business acceptance test cases and testing.

• Works with the project managers to ensure that usability deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical and scope constraints.

• Contributes to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, metrics and design standards.

• Acts as a user experience advocate regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design.

• Proven understanding of user-centered design techniques & demonstrated ability to incorporate UCD principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces.

• Demonstrated ability in gathering and translating requirements from business sponsors, SMEs, users, and business analysts etc.

• Experience applying usability testing techniques and principles.

• Experience applying a web design standard

• Knowledge of web client technologies (browsers, HTML, CSS).

• Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to articulate ideas effectively.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop.

• Strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

• Strong detail orientation, and a passion for consistency.


Must Have Requirement:

1. Web Accessibilty experience - 3 years

2. WCAG - 3 years

3. Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint experience - 3years

4. Familiarity with HTML

5. Experience in digital space - 3 years

6. Strong communication skills


\Nice to Have:

1. UX tools such as Figma and Mural.

2. Salesforce CRM experience is a bonus, this role will be heavily immersed in our Salesforce platform, so experience would be an asset, especially if that experience is accessibility related



Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in human factors/usability or related discipline.

• 2-4 years related experience.
