Senior BI Developer required for development and support of BI Solutions (2024-029)

Our GTA based, Municipal Government client requires the services of a Senior Business Intelligence Developer (Systems Analyst) for designing and developing business intelligence solutions and/or enhancing and supporting existing solutions.

This work assignment is scoped to address work associated with the BI Enablement project.

ROLE:

• Work with the Business Intelligence & Analytics team in designing, developing, maintaining the Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data platforms and associated solutions.
• Responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and documenting Microsoft Power BI and MicroStrategy datasets/semantic layer, dashboards and reports.
• Responsible for modelling data, designing and creating datasets using Microsoft Power BI and MicroStrategy
• Convert business requirements to technical specifications.

MUST HAVE:

• A university degree in Computer Science, or the equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Business Intelligence developer.
• Microsoft Power BI certification - required; Architect, Developer or similar
• Extensive hands-on experience developing business intelligence solutions; semantic layers, schemas, dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI
• Experience working on large Enterprise projects using Microsoft Azure, Synapse and database related services coupled to Microsoft Power BI
• Expert understanding of Microsoft Power BI user and workspace management best practices
• Experience on configuring Microsoft Port BI environments
• MicroStrategy professional certification preferred; Architect, Developer or similar
• Extensive hands-on experience developing business intelligence solutions; data cubes, schemas, dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy 2020 or later
• Hands-on experience working with MicroStrategy Command Manager, Developer and Object Manager tools.
• Experience working with SQL Server 2019 or later
• Good understanding of data modelling techniques as relates to data warehouse design and solutions
• Experience delivering analytics solutions using data sources such as SAP Payroll/HR, MAXIMO work order and public transit card payment and vehicle location systems would be beneficial
• Experience with data quality, data cleansing and data stewardship processes and techniques
• Ability to solve complex data problems by analysis, develop appropriate solutions and clearly communicate those solutions to the team.
• Ability to work efficiently and provide accurate time estimates for work to be undertaken.
• Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
