Senior Instructional Design/Training/Facilitation Specialist for an in-flight D365 implementation

Our large retail client is seeking a Senior Instructional Design/Training/Facilitation Specialist for an in-flight D365 implementation to start on a contract ASAP until end of 2025.


Must live in or near Calgary willing to come into the office full time (5 days/week) and provide own laptop.


Must-Have:

  • 8+ years in a blend of training, facilitation, and instructional design roles utilizing knowledge of adult education principles
  • 3+ years supporting ERP project implementation and delivery (ideally as a technical trainer/facilitator)
  • Exposure to D365 systems (ideally in Finance and/or SCM)
  • Experience training a non-technical audience
  • Strong technical writing skills


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the Retail/Wholesale business domain
  • Post-secondary qualification or industry specific designations in Education, Instructional Design, Finance, or IT.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 F&O and SCM.
  • Knowledge of finance accounting and/or dispatching back-office operations
  • Experience with LMS, including SCORM compliance and content publishing



Overview: Join a D365 FSCM implementation project mid-flight in a 50/50 ID & Training role creating D365 training content and facilitating the training. You will be part of a small team of peers with a similar skill-set. In a few months the role will eventually transition to more facilitation as the project comes to a close hopefully by end of year.


Key Accountabilities:

Training/Facilitation Accountabilities:

  • Support end user learning content development as per the plan
  • Develop facilitator documentation
  • Deliver approved curriculum and training content to non-technical learners on the functionality and use of MS D365 application in Virtual-instructor-led-training (VILT) format
  • Evaluate and enhance the delivery of training based on learner evaluations and feedback
  • Contribute to improvements of training materials in collaboration with instructional designers/L&D Lead
  • Update facilitator documentation, learner engagement activities and presentations.

Instructional Design Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate/Support revision of existing content and creation of net new instructions.
  • Assess prebuilt content for flow and readability, rewrite instructions, and restructure learning objectives.
  • Develop relevant assessments and evaluations.
  • Utilize industry-standard authoring tools to minimize the learning curve and onboarding efforts
