Our Insurance client is seeking a Senior Mainframe Network systems Programmer for a host network support role


Duration - Until Dec 31, 2024 plus extension


Work Mode - 100% remote


Must Haves


• At least 5+ years' experience performing z/OS system support/ programming, Host Network experience

• Demonstrable skills in z/OS Network Systems Programming in a multi-LPAR Sysplex environment: Communication Server VTAM : SNA, APPN, Enterprise Extender, Subarea routing, Logmode tables.

Communication Server TCP/IP: OSA, OSPF, zOSMF, DVIPA, DDVIPA. Network Security: PAGENT, SSL/TLS, Configuration Assistant, SSH.

Network Monitoring: (One or more) NetView, CA-NetMaster, OMEGAMON for Networks.


• File Transfer (Two or more): Connect:Direct, CA-XCOM, ftp(s), SFTP, NetView FTP, Co:Z, Tectia.

• Session managers (one or more): CA-TPX, CL-Supersession, NetView Access Services, Teleview, VTAM/Switch.

• Print products: CA-Spool, IBM lnfoprint, VPS.

• Diagnostic skills are a must, including the ability to interpret job and task logs, syslogs, and traces.

• Ability to train and coach junior team members and build proficient network skills.

• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and accounts.

Role and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer for a Host Network Support position. This role functions, in a global team providing services to a client with multi-protocol complex environments. The selected candidate will interact frequently with clients, vendors, and management to ensure high level of satisfaction. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Acting as a resource and point of escalation for global team members.

• Engaging in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex problems on zOS host networks.

• Providing planning and recommendations for changes on hardware and software components for the zOS network.

• Utilizing z/OS Communimplementation of network software upgrades, including testing and implementation with network service provider, application teams, and internal support teams.

• Disaster Recovery, planning and execution of tests, including client access to DR systems during production network service. ications Server and other products perform configuration and customization of IBM and ISV mainframe network software.

• Supporting project msanagement with

• Compliance and Security, ensure mainframe network environment complies with security rules agreed by Kyndryl and client.

• Performing level 3 problem solving and troubleshooting.

• Can act in a leadership role for the global team on global projects and participate on teams that impact the host network.
