Description
Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Senior Privacy Impact Assessment Consultant to support their efforts in analyzing and implementing privacy-related policies, ensuring compliance with federal privacy laws and TBS guidelines.
100% remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret privacy policies, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Privacy Information Banks (PIBs).
- Provide expert legal advice and recommendations on privacy compliance and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with privacy laws, such as those outlined by the TBS.
- Evaluate and implement data security protocols to safeguard private and sensitive information.
- Ensure systems and processes are designed to comply with federal and provincial privacy regulations.
- Prepare technical and legal documentation outlining privacy risks and mitigation strategies.
Must-Haves:
- 10+ years of experience in privacy compliance, legal advisory, or data security within a public sector or regulatory context.
- Expertise in TBS privacy guidelines, privacy laws, and acts applicable to Canadian federal institutions.
- Knowledge of data security principles to ensure private information is protected.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Legal qualifications or certifications focused on privacy law.
- Experience working with public sector projects, particularly those involving sensitive or private data.
- Familiarity with system security assessments and privacy-by-design frameworks.
- Canadian degree/diploma in Law, Information Security, or a related field.
