Description
Our valued professional services client (end client: gaming/entertainment industry) is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee complex Network infrastructure projects for a Professional Services client!
Initial 6-month contract with possibility for extension. 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Primarily remote, with some occasional on-site work in Toronto, ON or other campus locations in Western Canada (e.g. Vancouver, Calgary, etc.). Travel and lodging costs will be covered.
As the successful candidate, you will lead and oversee complex Network infrastructure projects, including deploying networking solutions, MPLS configurations, and firewall implementations. You will have a proven track record of successfully delivering IT infrastructure projects on time and within budget, with proficiency in Microsoft Project® for project planning and tracking.
Responsibilities
- Lead project planning activities. (Meetings, Status reporting, Off-hour Implementations, Change requests, Functional testing, etc.)
- Use Microsoft Project® to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Manage all phases of IT infrastructure projects, ensuring objectives are met within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manage RAID (Risks, Action Items, Issues, and Decisions) log.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including network engineers, IT staff, and external vendors.
- Ensure clear communication of project expectations and progress to team members and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to the project engineering team working on network switching, routing, MPLS, and firewall configurations.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve project-related issues promptly to minimize impact on timelines and deliverables.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, budgets, and change management logs.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project status and performance metrics.
- Evaluate and improve project management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on IT infrastructure trends and best practices to drive successful project outcomes.
Must-Have Skills
- 6+ years’ experience as a Project Manager, ideally with a professional services background
- Demonstrated experience overseeing IT infrastructure project delivery, including networking, MPLS, and firewall technologies.
- Active PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification
- Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Project
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Any ITIL and/or Security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA)
