Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to perform automation testing for a large financial system modernization program

Our valued client is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to perform automation testing for a large financial system modernization program

As the successful candidate you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and other QA professionals, to design, develop, implement, and execute automated test plans and test scripts. Your focus will be on validating the functionality of applications, identifying defects, and contributing to the overall improvement of the software development processes.

An initial 1-year contract (with possible 1-year extension). Hybrid work model in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto (4 days a month on site).

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium Webdriver using Test NG, Cucumber frameworks, Rest Sharp, TOSCA using TBox and classic frameworks) for APIs, Platform and UI software components.
• Create and execute test cases for functional, regression, integration, API testing and performance testing.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
• Execute automated test suites as part of each software release cycle.
• Identify areas suitable for automation and prioritize test cases for automation.
• Suggest new approaches to existing or planned testing.
• Provide detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests.
• Identify manual tests to perform in each functional area, create high level test cases as well as detailed descriptive step by step test cases to improve the overall test coverage.
• Develop deep knowledge of the system and understand the impact of changes to the system.
• Perform scenario-based testing from the business perspective

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst
• Experience with API Testing using Postman
• Experience with Accessibility Testing
• Experience with Tosca automation testing tool
• Experience working in one or more of the following Agile methodologies: Scrum, Disciplined Agile, Kanban, DevOps

Nice-to-have Skills:

• Experience working in a financial, banking, payments and similar industry
• Experience working in a crown corporation environment
• Experience with BDD (Behavior-driven development)
