Our client is seeking a SR Windows Server Support Analyst with ITIL experience to support the infrastructure and operations team


Department: Services & Operations - Infrastructure and Operations

Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract (January-December 2025)

Location: Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta (Hybrid model - 1-2 days per week in office)

Accountable to: Director, Infrastructure and Operations


Position Overview:

Client is seeking two experienced Windows Server Support Analysts to join the Infrastructure and Operations team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting and managing Windows Server environments across both on-prem and cloud platforms, ensuring systems align with business needs and ITIL standards. This role may require participation in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Knowledge Transfer from the existing service provider to prepare for the repatriation of IT Operations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Client’s infrastructure and application delivery needs for day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day support and execution of Windows Server environments in both on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Participate in Incident Management to assist with the diagnosis and remediation of Windows Server-related issues.
  • Prepare Root Cause Analyses and remediation approaches as part of Problem Management.
  • Ensure Windows Server management aligns with Client ITIL standards and processes.
  • Maintain awareness of business experience and satisfaction, ensuring systems meet client requirements.
  • Follow up on escalations and ensure successful resolution.
  • Collaborate with peers in Infrastructure and Operations to introduce and manage changes to service delivery based on evolving business needs and technology advancements.
  • Execute standard server support processes such as patch management, backup & recovery, builds, and decommissioning.


Must-Haves:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Windows Server Support Analyst.
  • Experience operating in an ITIL environment and adhering to ITIL processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory Group Policy (installation, configuration, and management).
  • Experience with VMWare implementation, management, and support.
  • Programming/scripting experience with PowerShell.
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining Windows Server systems, including security, network, and storage.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • MCSE certification (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert).
  • Experience with CMDB, including data updates and leveraging data for operational planning and support.
  • Strong working knowledge of server hardware (installation, configuration, and maintenance in a data center environment).
  • Experience with network administration, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
