Sr. Financial Risk and Operations Specialist working within liquidity risk for our financial services client

Job Title: Financial Risk & Operations Specialist

Contract Duration: 3 months

Location: Downtown Toronto

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Financial Risk & Operations Specialist to join our Market Risk Group for a 3-month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking and Treasury risk management, with the ability to handle daily operational tasks effectively from day one. This role is crucial for supporting the team during a period of high workload, particularly in managing liquidity & interest rate risk and assisting with ALCO reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily liquidity horizon (LH) tasks and weekly risk-weighted inventory (RWI) to support ongoing liquidity management.
2. Assist in the consolidation of liquidity positions and development of a consolidated liquidity model.
3. Support the ALCO by contributing to the preparation and presentation of reports.
4. Navigate cash flows, regulatory requirements, and stress testing processes.
5. Provide operational support to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
6. Streamline existing processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
7. Participate in the review and evaluation of cash flows, duration gaps, and stress testing results as per company’s Liquidity & Funding Risk Policy and Market Risk Management Policy.
8. Assist in the preparation of regular risk reporting to the Asset and Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and other stakeholders.

Must haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of liquidity risk management and business operations within a financial services environment.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and stress testing.
