Description
Joining our maintenance team, your role will be to supervise the team of mechanics and electrotechnicians, ensuring that the work they perform is of high quality and that they are well-managed. You will also participate in continuous improvement practices and manage the prioritization of tasks to reduce production downtime while ensuring the health and safety of employees.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Maintenance, your main responsibilities will include:
- Supervising, guiding, and motivating human resources, providing close leadership based on communication and trust
- Managing human resources (scheduling, training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution)
- Promoting a healthy work environment by encouraging dialogue, conflict resolution, continuous development, and employee well-being
- Ensuring smooth communication between the maintenance team, other departments, and management to proactively resolve technical issues
- Promoting and reinforcing safety practices to ensure a safe working environment for all
- Providing technical support and expertise to your team and guiding employees in maintenance work
- Ensuring compliance with the collective agreement, regulations, and internal procedures
- Participating in the optimization of maintenance processes and methods to reduce production line downtime
- Participating in the development of the maintenance budget and managing costs related to repairs and spare parts
- DEP or DEC in industrial maintenance, mechanics, electrotechnics, or a related field with 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field with 2 years of experience
- At least 5 years of experience in team management (experience in a unionized environment is a plus)
- Ability to remain calm in complex situations
- Autonomy and initiative
- Excellent skills in analyzing situations and solving problems
- Strong human management skills: active listening, conflict management, talent development
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence team members to achieve goals
- Experience in an industrial environment (a plus)
- Knowledge of the Guide Ti maintenance software (a plus)
