Located on 10 beautiful acres in the heart of Olde Oakville, St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School (SMLS) is a premier independent school for girls from JK through to Grade 12. About the Opportunity

SMLS is currently seeking a Camp Lead and Camp Counsellors to support our two-week summer camp program which runs from June 16, 2025 to June 27, 2025. The camp is conveniently located at our Oakville School campus. All staff should be available to work the full camp period as well as be available for an orientation day tentatively scheduled for June 14, 2025.

Shift Schedule

The Camp Lead & Camp Counsellors must be available to work from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm from June 16, 2025 to June 27, 2025. Shifts will be assigned during those times.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be one of our outgoing, fun and energetic staff delivering creative and innovative, camp programming for campers ages four years to ten years of age.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting the programming in terms of the day to day operation of the camp
  • Ensuring the safety of the campers on a daily basis and responding to any first aid emergencies appropriately
  • Communicating with the other Camp staff as well as parents of campers
  • Role modeling positive camp behavior at all times
Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a (day) camp setting. Our successful camp staff are energetic, enthusiastic, articulate and creative camp leaders who communicate with ease and confidence. You are comfortable engaging in innovative and diverse programming for campers. You are a critical thinker who demonstrates initiative, integrity and attention to detail. And, of course your main desire is for your campers to be safe and have FUN!

Experience, Education, and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary student with an interest in the education, youth worker field preferred
  • Previous experience working with children ages four to ten years in group settings
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
