Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and hands-on Engineering Delivery Manager to lead delivery for one of the departments within the State Street Charles River Development (CRD)/ Alpha Platform Engineering organization. The role will report into the Head of Engineering Delivery within the CRD/ Alpha CTO Organization.
We are expanding in Canada, and the candidate may also serve as the site lead for the Canada Engineering team of up to 50 team members.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Book of Work from the Engineering perspective: report status, identify delivery risks, ensure roadmaps are in place, identify and address resource gaps
- Track Performance vs. KPIs: measure results and ensure accountability
- Drive Execution: Ensure teams deliver on time, on budget, with quality
- Unblock Teams: Identify obstacles to keep engineering moving
- Optimize Processes: Streamline workflows for faster, smoother delivery
- Ensure Adherence to Standards: SDLC compliance, agile best practices
- Risk and Control: provide support for corporate audits as needed
- Oversee headcount and vendor contracts, support hiring and onboarding of new resources
- Provide site leadership: collaborate with engineering leaders to understand headcount ramp up requirements, support in-country recruiting efforts, help establish relationships with local universities (in partnership with the Early Career Recruiting team), review existing resource allocation to projects and adherence to local contols
Requirements and skills:
- 8+ years of experience successfully implementing and leading engineering delivery
- Hands -on experience running cross-functional, ideally global, programs with budget over $5MM
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders, influencing decision-making
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
- Practical knowledge of Agile methodology. SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Master certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of MS Office, JIRA, Microsoft Project
- Ability to learn and absorb technical information
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent nuanced communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- BSc/BA degree in, Engineering, Math, Science; MSc/MA is a plus
- Prior experience of serving as a site lead or managing a team of 15+ staff
