Sturgeon Public Schools is currently recruiting for a Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment at Lilian Schick School. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.

Located in the Town of Bon Accord, Lilian Schick is a Grade 5-9 school with a student population of approximately 240 students. The dedicated staff works together as a team to provide a strong academic education, including non-denominational Christian faith-based (LOGOS) programming. At Lilian Schick, we provide opportunities for students to learn and grow, make healthy life choices, and achieve their goals.

FTE: 1.0 FTE; Monday to Friday; 6.5 hrs/day; Temporary

Duties: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will assist in a classroom with positive behaviour programs, academic support, routine, and structure.

Qualifications & Experience: Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma or Certificate is required; experience working with behaviours is an asset; CPR and First Aid are desirable. Preference is given to applicants with experience and training with Special Needs, Autism, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered.

Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
