Description
Reporting to the Student Information Systems Coordinator, the Student Information Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting School Staff and Central Office staff on the Student Information System applications and systems. The Student Information Support Specialist collaborates with Central Office teams to implement key business initiatives, including the maintenance of confidential information. The Student Information Support Specialist applies system-thinking, business acumen and experience within the Public Education sector to ensure a secure, reliable, robust digital environment.
FTE : 1.0 FTE; 7.0 hrs/day; Monday to Friday; Full-Time Temporary
Initial Assignment
The Student Information Support Specialist must carry out professional responsibilities and provide services in accordance with the Sturgeon School Division’s policies while working with staff and external vendors. Duties of this role include but are not limited to:
Provide support and maintenance for the Student Information and related systems
Apply best practices in project management and integration of systems
Develop reports and customizations in existing systems
Monitor and report on data integrity in existing systems
Manage and resolve general technical/operational issues with assigned systems
Develop and execute training to end users of assigned systems
Recommend, develop and implement process improvements
Raise awareness, facilitate professional learning, and monitor system alignment regarding good practices of data security and the protection of privacy in alignment with provincial and federal legislation, policy and guidelines and FOIP
Qualifications & Experience :
Post-secondary education in a related discipline
Experience with Google Suite of Applications for Education or Business
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Excellent interpersonal skills
Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered.
The Sturgeon Public School Division offers a competitive salary range of $4,100 - $5,000 monthly as well as a comprehensive benefits package which includes a defined pension as per the General Employment Conditions. Hours of work are 35 hours per week.
