Job Description:

The incumbent will be an experienced Robotic Process Automation Senior Engineer for our Corporate Finance team. The successful candidate will use their experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and software development to support the environments; deliver new functionality and modify existing processes, within current environments. This role reports to Director, IT Product Owner - Finance and Business Intelligence Solutions, Corporate IT.

What will you do?

You will be responsible for building Blue Prism automations at Sun Life.

  • Provide Blue Prism automation knowledge and development expertise as a member of an agile pod using Scrum methodology
  • Collaborate with a cross functional Scrum team to identify automation opportunities, and to prioritize the pipeline
  • Follow best practices, guardrails, and artifacts for designing, developing, and testing Blue Prism automations
  • Design, build, and test automations using Blue Prism technology
  • Build a catalogue of reusable objects and processes for Blue Prism automations
  • Schedule and monitor automations in production during business hours using Blue Prism control room and/or other automated monitoring tools
  • Build micro-automation solutions by leveraging common tools such as Macro and Power Query

What do you need to succeed?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Discipline
  • 5+ years of design, implementation and governance experience with Robotic Process Automation or Business Process Automation architectures
  • Strong understanding of RPA tools (Blue Prism preferred) and development process
  • Blue Prism Developer Certification
  • Proficient with workflow and case management tools and Excel (Macro and Power Query), VBA Scripting, SQL, Access, Screen Scraping and API
  • Solid understanding of cyber security implications of automation
  • Demonstrated experience in developing documentation to support standards and best practices

Unique Requirements:

  • Obtaining a Canadian Reliability Status security clearance [including a minimum of 5 years of consecutive residency in Canada]

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
