Join our Strategy team and make an impact in Canadian healthcare
Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is on an exciting journey of transformation, and we want you to be part of it. As we implement our ambitious 5-year Strategic Plan (2024-2029), we are seeking a strategic, results-driven, and dynamic individual to join our Strategy Office as a Senior Planner.
In this role, you will play a critical part in advancing clinical strategic and operational priorities, ensuring that our initiatives align with the evolving healthcare needs of our diverse communities. A key focus will be on leading and executing key clinical projects within Cardiac Care, as well as identifying new opportunities to enhance the program’s impact. Your role will help shape the future of cardiac services and drive meaningful improvements across the healthcare system.
Here's what you'll get to do
Within Cardiac Care:
- Lead and manage the implementation of high-impact cardiac care projects.
- Develop and optimize processes for efficient and effective program operations.
- Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Report directly to senior executives, including the EVP, Chief Nursing and Allied Professionals, and Chief and Medical Director of Cardiology.
Within the Strategy Office:
- Provide strategic planning expertise and project management support to members of the SHN leadership team on developing strategy, programs, services, and other organizational priorities.
- Support the execution of clinical strategic planning, including research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, environmental scanning, and issues analysis
- Support the implementation and sustainment of a corporate framework for monitoring the achievement of the strategic plan.
- Contribute strategic advice and input to the development of plans, proposals, and various projects aligned with SHN's strategic priorities.
- Prepare reports to the executive team on the progress of strategic initiatives.
- Develop executive-level reports and presentations to track progress and inform decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, healthcare staff, and external partners.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh insights and best practices into SHN’s strategic planning process.
Here's what you will need
- Master’s degree in business, health, nursing, science, or a related field (MBA and clinical/operational experience preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in strategy development, healthcare planning, clinical services planning, or management consulting.
- Project Management certification (PMP) or equivalent experience (or working towards certification).
- Expertise in planning methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of government health system priorities, trends, and emerging directions.
- Experience leading strategic projects in complex healthcare environments.
- Ability to develop and implement performance management systems, scorecards, and KPIs.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in PowerPoint to develop compelling, executive-level presentations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver impactful presentations to diverse audiences.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
