Our well-established client is looking for an Assistant to help their VP of Design. This is a full-time, permanent position within a company renowned for its high-quality work.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. On-site.

Salary: 55K to 65K per year according to experience.

Located in Montreal. Close to Assomption metro station. Parking available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The person will work directly with the VP of Design bringing projects from concept to completion.

  • Assisting the VP of Design in organizing the department
  • Collaborating on and leading interiors projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design and design development
  • Doing follow ups on projects
  • Providing project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
  • Working with clients, consultants and contractors to meet overall project objectives on schedule and within budget if needed
  • Contributing to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Requested skills

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English and French). As this position requires frequent interactions with international vendors, the English language is considered necessary and will be used daily at an advanced level
  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Creative eye and aesthetic sense as well as very solid communication skills for a collaborative team-based working environment
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in Canada, preferably in an architectural firm
  • Strong graphic presentation skills in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of InDesign and Graphic Artist skills is an asset
  • A love of home décor and creative endeavors is a huge asset.

Excellent organizational skills and a positive, energetic attitude is an absolute must. Being a team player is paramount and working seamlessly within a creative, often very fast paced department with many tight deadlines is a daily necessity.
