We are looking for a Production Planner

Job objective
The person in this position will be responsible, among other things, for the on-time delivery of catalog products and CDIs, following through from customer commitment to actual shipment; for providing planning support for the introduction of new module, subassembly and component products.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to :

  • Manage the manufacturing planning process for finished products and sub-assemblies.
  • Manage the production plan for assigned product lines based on available capacity.
  • Issue daily production orders to the production shop based on component and capacity availability.
  • Analyze and maintain minimum coverage levels for components, sub-assemblies and finished products.
  • Calculate and maintain the minimum quantity of finished products according to demand.
  • Monitor and maintain production lead times for sub-assemblies and finished products.
  • Monitor and report actual results against production plan.
  • Monitor critical shortages, high inventory, low inventory and zero inventory.
  • Work with purchasing to ensure critical components and raw materials are delivered on time, then proactively review component/raw material supply and determine any necessary push/pull actions.
  • Participate in inventory control activities to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor and respond to production-related lead-time requests in the Product Availability inbox.
  • Participate in shipping and receiving requests to ensure on-time delivery where appropriate.
  • Make decisions regarding release, confirmation, cancellation or postponement of production based on inventory, demand, capacity and material availability.

Requested skills

Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 1-3 years experience in a similar position: in planning and/or schedule development preferably in the field of semiconductors, telecommunications, data communication components, sub-assemblies and modules, with a preference for NPI planning experience.
Education: Post-secondary degree relevant to the position


Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Process-oriented
  • Ability to think methodically and organize
  • Ability to plan and program products with multi-level BOMs
  • Experience in complex planning, forecasting and product lifecycle programs
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365
  • Perfect written and spoken skills of French and English, daily exchanges with other BUs are required
  • Strong ability to work in a group atmosphere and to meet high quality standards.
