With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking a full-time BAS Technician within the East/West Facilities department.

Key A ccountabilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor for their assigned area:
Responsible for an established preventative maintenance routine for TCDSB building automation systems
Inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of pneumatic and electronic (DDC) building service controls, computer-based systems, System Extended Architecture (BACnet) and associated equipment to ensure devices are fully functional and operational
Familiarity with open protocols such as BACnet/N2 Bus
Programming of building automation systems
Repairing and installation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems controls
On site in servicing of caretakers
Responsible for the safe operation and safekeeping of tools supplied by the Board, safe operation and maintenance of company vehicle while in use
Maintain accurate records (e.g., vehicle maintenance, work orders, timesheets, etc.)
Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
The use of proper safety protective equipment is required at all times
Act as the Board representative, coordinate and attend project meetings with the users, project managers, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction

Requirements
Must have a community college diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technician (Industrial), Electronics Engineering, HVAC, Mechanical/Electrical Technologist Diploma or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in Building Automation, Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and pneumatic control systems
Knowledge and experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) including communications protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, etc.; and Installation of controls hardware, instrumentation, and other related devices
Familiarity with Tridium's Niagara AX and Niagara 4, Metasys, Honeywell, JCS Dx-91000, Automated Logic systems and software
Ability to write sequence of operations for heating and ventilating systems
Ability to read and draw schematic drawings plans used for troubleshooting
Ability to repair and install electronic controls systems (hardware)
Knowledge of Windows-based computer systems and computer networks
Ability to work independently
Must have a valid Ontario Driver's G license
Must be proficient in the English language (both written and verbal) in order to comprehend manuals and maintain work records
PLEASE NOTE :
Hours of work will fall within the evening shift band and may change consistent with the collective agreement. Hours to be confirmed upon hire.
Flexible home base, to be determined by management, based on system needs.
Written and practical tests will be facilitated to short listed candidates
If candidates are selected for an interview, they must submit proof of good driving record before the interview .
This is a C U PE 4400 position with a pay rate of $43.40/ Hr .
