Job description : We are looking for a candidate for the position of Maintenance Manager for our two hotels, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Homewood Suites by Hilton Montreal Midtown. Under the authority of the General Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supervising the operations of the maintenance department (building maintenance) and ensuring that we offer our customers an impeccable product that complies with the standards of the chain.

Main responsibilities:

Accomplishes and/or leads hotel projects, including:

  • Electrical, plumbing and carpentry work
  • Air conditioning/heating system inspections (A/C)
  • Management of air conditioning/heating system repairs (A/C)
  • Repairs in the rooms
  • Carpet and tile repair
  • Minor roof repairs, painting and exterior projects
  • Pool/Spa Maintenance
  1. Management of operations and technical projects:
    • Oversee the operations of the maintenance department for both hotels.
    • Lead repair and maintenance projects, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
    • Manage repairs to heating and air conditioning systems, as well as repairs in rooms.
    • Perform minor roof repairs, painting and exterior projects.
  2. Preventive maintenance and resource management:
    • Implement and supervise preventive maintenance programs for all equipment (laundry, security systems, etc.).
    • Ensure the monitoring of schedules and the implementation of maintenance programs.
    • Determine service contract requirements and manage external vendors.
    • Manage stocks of spare parts and necessary tools.
  3. Training, supervision and management:
    • Train, mentor and supervise maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Implement tracking systems, including work orders and maintenance documents.
    • Respond to technical emergencies and ensure repairs are completed promptly.
    • Maintain accurate reporting on maintenance activities, costs, and team performance.

Profile sought:

  • College or university degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a field related to building maintenance OR an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in building maintenance.
  • Experience working in a similar position in the hospitality industry an ASSET.
  • Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and project management.
  • Flexible hours with availability in case of emergency.
  • Increased people management skills.
  • Bilingualism
