About the Position

Reporting to the Pricing Operations & Commercial Support Supervisor, the Wholesale Pricing Technician will be responsible for managing customer pricing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with market regulations. You will play a key role in daily pricing management and ensuring data aligns with market changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrate wholesale contracts according to the agreements provided by the sales team: create new deals, input and manage customer pricing, and update contract volumes in the Wholesale Contract Management system (WCM).
  • Monitor and make changes in Valero’s daily rack prices as published on the market, based on decisions made by the sales team following market fluctuations.
  • Generate daily reports to help senior management and sales representatives make strategic decisions.
  • Process invoices for bulk sales, and manual entries for volume rebates and incentives.
  • Assist customers and the sales team with billing and pricing-related inquiries.
  • Participate in projects related to system or process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with renewable fuels regulations and cap-and-trade systems.
  • Prepare and validate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation for controls assigned to the pricing team.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • College diploma or University degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the energy or fuels sector.
  • Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of basic Excel skills, with experience in SAP being an asset.
  •  A high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

However, knowledge of English is considered necessary for performing the tasks of this position.  The individual in this position will be required to review documents and interact both verbally and in writing with colleagues at the head office in Texas or in other Canadian provinces, or with various stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, unilingual anglophone business partners.
