We're searching for a Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our growing high-performance Executive & Medical Staff Talent Acquisition team. Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Advisor is responsible for providing expert advice and developing external corporate recruitment strategies and services to support Vancouver Coastal Health’s (VCH) senior leadership, Directors and Managers by identifying, sourcing, screening and qualifying candidates and filling vacancies in a competitive job market.

The Talent Acquisition Advisor maintains strong internal and external working relationships to foster continuous performance excellence, identifies recruitment needs, researches and advises on emerging trends, advises on best practices and plans and carries out corporate recruitment initiatives to meet critical staffing needs. They facilitate the end-to-end recruitment process by utilizing innovative, creative and professional recruiting methods, coordinating and developing bespoke advertising material, and developing proposals for new and creative avenues for advertising.

A strong team communicator, the Advisor ensures client partners and team members are consistently informed and aligned throughout the recruitment process, promoting collaboration and transparency. They also build and maintain effective partnerships with academic institutions, professional associations, recruitment agencies and other organizations and maintains an up-to-date directory of eligible candidates.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record in executive search, successfully sourcing, engaging, and placing senior-level talent across multiple sectors.

As a Talent Acquisition Advisor (Executive Portfolio) with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:

  • Own and deliver recruitment services for the Executive Talent Acquisition portfolio within Vancouver Coastal Health.
  • Manage multiple executive-level positions, tailoring search processes and support in identifying the best candidates.
  • Develop and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s recruitment needs, as well as the province’s healthcare sector and recruitment market in order to anticipate and provide expert recruitment advice and consultation to VCH’s senior leadership, Directors and Managers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with managers across the organization to identify current and future needs. Meets regularly with managers to understand the business requirements.
  • Source eligible candidates through networking, cold calling, corporate search, social media, online tools, job fairs and industry events, and various advertising methods
  • Source candidates from various academic institutions by creating and maintaining relationships with Instructors and Practice Leads and meeting directly with new graduates to promote VCH.
  • Manage confidential and high-touch candidate experiences, ensuring proactive communication, and responsiveness tailored to executive-level expectations.
  • Research and recommend advertising strategies for hiring and develops proposals for new and creative avenues for advertising that maximizes use of the organization’s website and other web-based tools. Evaluates cost-effectiveness of advertising strategies, and provides return-on-investment analysis. Monitors expenditures and hiring budgets.
  • Liaise with representative from academic institutions, professional associations, recruitment agencies and other organizations to build positive relationships and maintain sources of qualified applicants. Maintains an up-to-date directory of eligible candidates.
  • All other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Commerce (with a concentration in Human Resources) plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recruiting experience in a dynamic and diverse organization or an equivalent, combination of education, experience and training.
  • Experience working with modern integrated cloud-based human capital management system such as Workday is preferred.

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Proven innovative, motivated, and enthusiastic Recruiter and relationship builder with external clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of human resources and recruitment principles and practices, hiring regulations, codes of ethics and health care professional licensing.
  • Extensive experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, recruitment search methods, and social media.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication (both written and verbal), facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications including MS Office applications, online applicant tracking system, and human capital management systems. Knowledge of Workday is an asset.
  • Advanced skill in current computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database).
  • Promotes VCH brand by providing effective and professional recruitment services to external candidates and external organizations.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
