Position Summary

To provide day to day support functions to enhance the effectiveness of WHC programs.

Staff Scheduling

  • In collaboration with the team leader develops and maintains a regular schedule for all full, part time and casual staff and/or volunteers.
  • Communicates the schedule and ensures that the schedule remains current.

Inventory Management

  • Regular ordering, stocking and reconciliation of supplies.
  • Maintain supply and resource storage spaces.
  • Troubleshoot supplier issues
  • Product research
  • Inventory

Equipment Maintenance

  • Maintains an inventory of program related equipment
  • Provides regular equipment maintenance checks according to manufacturer instructions
  • Reports equipment issues to the Team Leader or Director for action

Evaluation Support:

  • Collate statistic information for reporting
  • Compile program participant feedback data
  • Assist in other evaluation activities as required

Program support:

  • Contact and respond to community members and program participants regarding programming, groups and appointments
  • Assist in maintaining client records
  • Organize and maintain program files and resources
  • Room booking and set up as required
  • Distribution and stocking of resources as required
  • Reconciliation of invoices and packing slips

Position Specific / Initiatives

  1. Coordinate receipt and distribution of home birth and visit equipment
  2. Act as a birth registrar and courier birth/death registrations to Vital Statistics Agency
  3. Orient and train new BCAs, midwives and students, on role of program and birth centre assistant
  4. Support Midwifery Services (as BCA/reception) as required

Education/Experience

  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
