Work Schedule:10 months/year (September-June) as required

Rate of Pay: $285.49 daily rate

We are accepting applications for Emergency Supply Elementary Teachers at AMDSB Elementary Schools.

Position Summary:

The AMDSB is currently seeking Elementary (Grades K-8) Emergency Teacher Candidates to fill in for the daily absences of classroom teachers. Emergency Teacher Candidates are notified on the day of the vacancy.

Requirements:

Prior to starting employment as an Emergency Supply Teacher Candidate with the AMDSB applicants will be:

  • Teacher Candidates in Year 1-4 of a Concurrent Education Program
  • As we are an English board, oral and written English proficiency is required;
  • Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months);
  • Emergency Teachers must be available for half or single day occasional teacher coverage on last minute notice;
  • Proven ability to maintain discipline in the classroom (classroom management);
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;
  • Experience working with G-Suite (Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) products.
Note - a Criminal Reference Check is part of the requirement process.
