Job Description: Functional Planner Specialists are responsible for performing various key functions within the Infrastructure Management portfolio. The Functional Planner will create provincial space standards for the SHA and translate what service lines require in the facility to support their work. This may include a work space design that facilitates interaction between one or more groups into documentation. This documentation will translate requirements into design solutions that specifies area calculations and how the function of each space is to be assigned. This work involves significant consultations between the Functional Planner and service lines as well as other stakeholders and external agencies. The specialist will promote and monitor SHA standards and customer service expectations for best practice in environmental planning. The Functional Planner/Specialists are part of the Infrastructure team that manage projects in the range from $200K to $100 Million plus.

Experience

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience developing and leading innovative projects.

Education

  • Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Interior Design

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Architecture
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Facilities Engineering Technology
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
