The Senior District Manager will oversee a team of 5 District Managers across the Waterloo, London, Daria, and Hamilton regions. This position requires a seasoned leader with strong experience in managing multiple locations and developing management talent. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mentoring, growing, and preparing District Managers for higher-level leadership roles within the company. This role emphasizes developing leadership within the team, driving accountability, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple districts.
Responsibilities:
- Mentor and develop a team of District Managers to prepare them for the next step in their careers, ensuring high levels of performance and readiness for advancement.
- Oversee operations in the Waterloo, London, Daria, and Hamilton districts, ensuring the effective management of staff, drivers, and supervisors to meet company standards.
- Identify areas for professional growth within the District Manager team and guide them to success through continuous development programs and performance management.
- Provide high-level operational decisions, helping to drive performance metrics and streamline processes to meet the company goals.
- Ensure all district operations meet financial goals and review P&Ls regularly to assess and adjust operational strategies for efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee 250+ employees across various sites, including drivers and supervisors. Ensure optimal coordination between teams to meet the needs of the business.
- Travel to different sites within the region (day trips) and collaborate with senior leaders to drive company success.
- Enforce a high standard of professionalism across districts and manage performance challenges, including issuing discipline when necessary.
Qualifications :
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in senior leadership, with substantial experience managing multiple districts or locations.
- While waste management experience is preferred, candidates from transportation, logistics, and manufacturing industries with relevant senior leadership experience will be considered.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and act on financial statements, including P&L analysis.
- Experience in managing and developing managers to higher leadership roles. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and demonstrate strategic thinking.
- High level of accountability in operations with a strong emphasis on driving professional standards and discipline within teams.
- Ability to travel to district locations as needed (2-3 days per week).
