The PCP provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. Due to the nature of operating in the public eye, a high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is always expected. The paramedic is required to conduct themselves in a safe and discreet manner, with the responsibility of conduct justification to patients, family members, hospitals staff, management, public agencies, legal court, and more. As an employee of IEMS, you are accountable to our patients, coworkers, and management by supporting all safety-related initiatives, as well as fostering a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe workplace.

Requirements for your application:

  • Current Resume & Cover Letter.
  • 2-3 Professional References.
    • If you are newly graduated, please include two(2) preceptor references.
  • Current PEI Paramedic License or Conditional PEI Paramedic License.
  • Current First Aid & CPR/BLS.
  • Copy of diploma/degree.
  • Class 4 Driver License; must be fully graduated/unrestricted.
    • If you are applying from outside of PEI, your license will be accepted if the classification is equal to PEI Class 4 requirements.
  • Driver’s abstract; issued within the last 60 days.
  • Valid Driver’s course certificate (CEVO); issued within the last 2 years.

  • Criminal Records check with vulnerable sector; issued within the last 60 days.
  • Confirmation of HEP. B, mumps & measles vaccination.
  • Confirmation of successful completion of the Paramedic Physical Abilities Test (PPAT) within one (1) year of application.

Salary:

$27.72 - $35.01 hourly as per CUPE 3324 Collective Agreement.
