The opportunity
The Senior Solution Architect is responsible for the design, development and maintenance, of applications that provide services and solutions to business partners. You will translate functional requirements into technical solution design and architecture for these applications and be responsible for providing guidance for technical decisions being made within software development initiatives.
Who you’ll work with
This role will work directly with Product teams that align to Investments and reports to Director, Investments Solution Architecture.
What you’ll do
Ensure the team delivers architecturally sound solutions that are developed according to agreed-upon standards and oversees the ongoing maintenance, support and currency aligned to OTPP’s risk tolerance levels.
Partnering with Product, develop, maintain and/or evolve as appropriate the Technology roadmap in support of the Public and Private Markets product value streams and aligned to divisional strategies.
Maintain vision/strategy for evolving our applications over time with the changing technology and business needs.
Research and maintain Industry relevant expertise on the evolving trends in the Public and Private Markets Investments industry.
Lead Implementation of new technologies, patterns, practices, and design standards that meet the capability and quality needs of the organization.
Develop “business value stream aligned” application/technical architecture for highly complex application software, including technology selection, frameworks, tools and integration with third-party products.
Work with product and business partners to understand functional & nonfunctional requirements, collaborate with product team members to enable effective and quality design, and contribute to development of technical strategies
Provide leadership in the planning of development activities within the product teams and ensure alignment with the established architectural patterns.
Expert in effective application architecture and design to support associated business needs for agility and maintainability.
Provide guidance and advice to Solution Architects and members of the Software Development team on architecture, analysis, design, and coding
Communicate with various levels of OTPP staff, including Senior Managing Directors of business divisions and IT Executives. Must be able to understand and communicate complex concepts with IT staff as well as non-technical staff.
What you’ll need
Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent education
Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. This includes coaching, mentoring, presentation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and leadership skills with different audience
A minimum of 10 years of programming experience developing software applications using programming languages. .Net, Message Broker Platform, RDMS like SQL Server / Oracle, and Expertise in DevOps stacks including Jenkins, Github, Ansible, Sonarcube and etc
A minimum of 3 years of experience in providing architecture and leading delivery of software solutions in Investment domain
Deep Technical expertise in at vendor-based application supports Investment Lifecycle including but not limited to Order Management, Portfolio Management, and Execution Management
Strong working experience in software development technologies, processes, and application architecture patterns, Cloud Native Development, Continuous build and integration, Agile software development practices, and Service Oriented Architecture.
Work with minimal direction and be proactive in soliciting management oversight and in raising significant issues. Demonstrate a willingness to take on responsibility and can execute autonomously
Solid understanding of Investment Life cycle. CFA Candidate Preferred
Good understanding of Microsoft Azure Services, Snowflake, Modern data pipeline technology like Airflow / DBT.
Knowledge and experience with different aspects of the life cycle of a project - including task definition and assignment, communication, managing team dynamics, scheduling, monitoring, and motivation.
Demonstrated experience and success in delivering solutions through the entire software development life cycle; complemented with a detailed understanding of hardware and software platforms, connectivity solutions, databases, middleware, etc.
Developed a track record of successfully delivering solutions with the ability to effectively prioritize across competing priorities with varying partners.
