Job Description:

Join our Strategy team and make an impact in Canadian healthcare

It is an exciting time to join SHN's Strategy Office. SHN is implementing several big transformational priorities aligned with our 2024-2029 Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Director of Strategy, SHN seeks a strategic and dynamic individual to join our Strategy Office as a Coordinator.

In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the Strategy Office and the execution of SHN's Strategic priorities. Your strong skill set will help achieve SHN's goals and objectives and strengthen corporate capacity in planning at various levels, including facilitation, analysis, evaluation, reporting, and project management.

Here's what you'll get to do

  • Provide coordination and planning support to members of the Strategy Office and cross-functional teams to enable the execution of SHN's corporate and clinical goals.

  • Support the development of key strategic deliverables, including corporate reports, briefing notes, business cases, development plans and proposals related to the strategic goals of SHN.

  • Support the implementation and sustainment of a corporate framework for monitoring the achievement of the strategic plan, including developing corporate scorecards and strategic initiatives dashboard.

  • Provide support with research, data analysis, facilitation/stakeholder engagement, environmental scanning, and issues analysis.

  • Provide guidance, communication, and change management support to cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

  • Design visually appealing and professional materials, including PowerPoint presentations and infographics

  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, staff, and system partners.

  • Provide administration support to team members, including preparing agendas, coordinating logistics, capturing meeting minutes, and following up on action items.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in strategy development.

  • Be part of a new and growing team while learning the ins and outs of how the Canadian healthcare system works.

Here's what you will need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health, science or a related field; Masters Degree would be an asset

  • 2+ years of experience in strategy development, healthcare planning, management consulting or a similar role

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with a specific focus on understanding the full functionalities of PowerPoint to develop polished and visual products that are targeted to different audiences

  • Experience planning, communicating, and leading strategic projects within a large, complex environment

  • Strong understanding of government and health system priorities, trends, and future directions

  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor performance management systems, including the creation of performance scorecards and KPIs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including expertise in the development and delivery of presentations to a variety of stakeholder groups

  • Pride in doing great work, a mindset of taking things to the finish line, and attention to detail
