The University of Guelph is hiring a Manager to lead Organization Change Management (OCM) function for the HR Management System (HRMS) program. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing change management strategies, communications plans, and learning initiatives for various workstreams, collaborating with partners from across the University to ensure successful transition and adoption of the HR platform.

Reporting to the HRMS Business Lead, this role is ideal for a strategic and energetic self-starter with the ability to clearly communicate key messages, fostering engagement and alignment across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide change management leadership for the HRMS Program

  • Develop a collaborative relationship with Program (execution) teams

  • Develop strong relationships with key business partners

  • Recommend change management approaches and tactics

  • Partner with PMs to ensure OCM activities are planned and executed in an integrated manner with other project activities

  • Conduct comprehensive change impact assessments to determine degree of change required by each stakeholder group; including changes to processes, roles and accountabilities, culture and rewards, etc.

  • Apply a proven methodology (e.g., Prosci), practices, and tools to build strategies and plans that drive change adoption that include engagement, communication, learning, support, and change readiness measurement

  • Build and socialize change roadmaps in partnership with sponsors and PMs

2. Change measurement and risk mitigation

  • Develop relevant metrics (KPIs) to measure effectiveness of the OCM program

  • Measure engagement, change readiness and adoption, and develop mitigation strategies

  • Identify change management risks and build a mitigation approach and actions

3. Stakeholder management and communication

  • Define communications plans, including format, channels and content, relevant to each stakeholder group

  • Partner with program and other business teams to execute communications and engagement plans

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in organization development, business, communications, HR or another related discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, work experience, and certifications

  • Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci, CMP) is considered an asset

  • 5 years of experience in change management or a related role

  • Demonstrated experience as a team lead on strategic transformation programs, including either or both technology and non-technology programs

  • Proven build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong coaching skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Fluent in MS office applications

Other desired skills and experience:

  • Experience in higher education sector

  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP)

  • Experience working in a unionized environment
