This is a full time position for one year, responsible for developing and implementing the Women's Mental Health Action Plan, supporting the current Women's Mental Health Initiative and planning/organizing a conference on Women's Mental Health for the Spring 2025. The position requirements are complex, with responsibility for engagement, project management, change management and implementation, and education related to action planning; in addition to coordination, oversight and quality assurance of clinical practices for women’s mental health across the zone. It requires a high degree of independence, leadership and expertise to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders from a broad range of clinical groups. The Women's Mental Health Action Plan will outline an appropriate, evidence-based tasks for addressing the evolving needs of women in Calgary Zone who require mental health and/or psychiatric supports. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. The PM leads and facilitates engagement of various stakeholders including external service providers, clinical staff, physician leaders, senior management. And executive leaders to develop efficient and effective services that are investigated, scoped and progressively designed in alignment with intended results. Engagement will also include consultation with patients and their families. This role provides senior consulting expertise and advice. This project will be focused on the provision of a well integrated emerging women addiction and mental health services system in Calgary Zone. Integration of project outcomes into the regular clinical flow, with significant associated clinical development and primary responsibility designing a “roadmap” that will assist both professionals and the public in easily identifying and most appropriate tier and service option.

Reporting to the Director Adult Southeast Addiction and Mental Health, Calgary zone the Project Manager (PM) provides project direction and support to the Women’s Mental Health project including: Project management which will include scoping, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Development of a strategic plan and continuum of care for Women’s Mental Health Services in Calgary zone/ Region. This position works with a high degree of independence providing leadership and planning support to develop a multistage, multi-year strategic plan to address the needs of emerging women who require mental health or psychiatric supports. Starting with immediate needs, the plan will specify the strategic plan over the next. 3-5 years and 5-10-year time frames. The plan will consider service design including opportunities for collaboration, programming options and business cases to support and ensure equitable access across the zone. All levels of intervention will be considered including intensive services such as inpatient and day hospital services; however, the primary focus will be on outpatient services. The PM applies service design, change management and process improvement principles to the project and uses various tools and models for project management.

Facilitating the active inclusion of all women mental health programs in Addiction and Mental Health and in other parts of the health continuum (E.g., Primary Care) that focus on Women adult addiction and mental health to assist the development of an effective patient care focused continuum of care.
