Job Summary

The Team
The Applications and Site Information Unit consists of a dedicated group that processes incoming notifications for the Site Remediation Program and manages the Site Registry, ensuring the public has access to vital land contamination information. Currently, the team is heavily involved in a project to digitize off-site paper records, providing the public with easier access to information through a new platform.

The Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant file digitization project while working within the Site Registry system. The successful candidate will help coordinate with external contractors and assist staff with registry updates, site information requests, and maintaining records, ensuring environmental compliance for clients across BC.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with information and database management and analysis
  • Experience with records and information management
  • Experience providing administrative and financial support services
  • Experience providing client service
  • Experience working in an office environment


Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience working in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Recent (within the last 5 years) government experience.
  • Experience applying records management practices; including classification, retention schedules, and archival practices. Additional considerations may be given to applicants with familiarity with electronic documents and records management systems (EDRMS), information governance and schedules such as ARCS/ORCS.
  • Experience with government digitization projects such as scanning and digital imaging, metadata capture, quality assurance/control, and adherence to BC government policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Post-secondary training, courses, or diploma in a related field such as site remediation, communications, or administrative support.


Willingness statement:

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally for Section and Branch meetings, client meetings, and for professional development and training purposes.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 04/30/2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
