Your Opportunity

Our National Office is looking for a Manager, to join the Innovation and Change Project Management Office team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Project Management Office of the Innovation and Change team, you will oversee a team Project Managers, Project Coordinators/Analysts and Business System Analysts in the successful execution and delivery of business and/or technology projects across all aspects of the organization, including:

  • Being accountable for providing project management and business analysis practice leadership, supporting portfolio management, resource and capacity management, and financial management to support the overall firm’s business and technology strategy

  • Ensuring project teams are equipped to meet approved timeframe, scope, quality, and budget expectations

  • Defining BDO project management and business analysis standards, operating procedures, processes, and tools to ensure cost effective and timely delivery of initiatives and projects

  • Driving the continuous improvement of project management and business analysis capabilities identifying opportunities for efficiencies and improvements supporting effective project delivery

  • Supporting the use and configuration of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools, dashboards, integration with other IT tools, project prioritization, and budget planning

  • Acting as a Champion for project management and resource capacity management across the technology team while effectively aligning resources against prioritization

  • Collaborating with Senior Management to effectively align the Project Management Framework (PMF) with I&C Project Management Office Standard Operational Procedures (SOP), System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile Methodology including SCRUM, etc.

  • Acting as a point of escalation for direct reports to effectively address bottlenecks, risks, and issues

  • Working with Senior Management on defining performance audit metrics and establishing performance monitoring for Project Managers, Project Coordinators/Analysts and Business (System) Analysts

  • Effectively managing, mentoring and coaching I&C PMO staff by setting performance expectations, establishing performance goals, and providing performance feedback to support career development

  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with key business functions, Service Line partners and other stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring business and technical objectives are met

  • Managing I&C Project Management Office portfolio review meetings providing progress status updates to Senior Management

  • Managing programs and projects as required based on resource needs

Your experience and education

  • A university degree or college diploma in Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent

  • Agile certifications such as PSM, CSM, PMI-ACP or equivalent considered an asset

  • 5+ years of direct work experience leading, managing, and coaching Project Managers and Business System Analysts including conducting performance reviews and evaluations

  • 5+ years of direct work experience in a Project Management role managing medium to large Enterprise-wide Business initiatives related to Innovation, AI, Process driven and Technology initiatives

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with Portfolio, Program and Project Management Lifecycles (PMLC), System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative), Project Management and Business Analysis best practices and Business Analysis tools, activities, and methodologies

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in MS suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Copilot, ChatGPT, Jira, Visual Studio, Power BI), Project Portfolio Management tools (MS Project Online)

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, verbal, and written skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to both business and technical staff

  • Excellent analytical, time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with tight deadlines

  • Self-development skills to keep up to date with fast-changing trends and industry standards (PMI, OCM etc.)

  • Experience working in professional services and/or service delivery an asset
