We are seeking an experienced and skilled manager to lead our Test Data Management (TDM) team and oversee the development and implementation of effective test data strategies, in partnership with the testing teams we support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test data management, experience working in a banking environment, and excellent leadership skills. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our software testing processes by managing high-quality test data across the organization. They will be responsible for driving innovation in test data management practices and supporting the overall quality assurance efforts of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute on improvement plans to improve the team’s quality of service, and cost structure
- Lead service, resource, and financial planning for the team
- Mentor team members, fostering their growth and development
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and provisioning of high-quality test data sets for software testing purposes
- Collaborate with testing teams to help them select and adopt efficient test data methods
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements and implement changes to streamline TDM functions and processes
- Ensure compliance with IT security guidelines and data protection regulations
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather/review test data requirements, and manage expectations
- Implement and maintain TDM tools, processes, and methodologies
- Oversee the development of self-service capabilities for test data provisioning and management
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to staff productivity and team financials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10-15 years overall experience in Technology, QA, Test Data Management
- 5+ years of specific experience in test data management
- 5+ years of specific experience leading a team of 20-30 individuals
- 3+ years of experience working in a financial institution
- Strong knowledge of TDM tools, databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL, NoSQL, SAP, DB2), and data masking techniques
- Excellent understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements
- Experience building automation tools based on Java, Python, and SQL preferred
- Experience with automation tools supporting test data management activities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
