Various positions within the project delivery team to support projects/programs as assistant project managers (Co-Op) related to Network and IT modernization.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in ongoing project management support of Network or Engineering or IT projects.
  • Assist in ongoing project management support of Network Engineering/IT projects.
  • Create project plan, maintain log and report project status to the supervisor during projects.
  • Manage and maintain MS Project Plans, develop action plans for issues, track risk mitigation.
  • Receive assignments from supervisors on problems related to assigned area of work.
  • Assist in the analysis of problems and develop strategies and preferred solutions; and assist in the delivery of the solution through suppliers and service providers.
  • Assist in collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, build, and operations primes to prioritize and schedule project deliverables
  • Work with others, including different project managers, as required.
  • Assist in managing and tracking project budget and status; report on variances and assist in redirection of programs and projects.
  • Assist in driving project success through timely update requests.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Develop the skills to write effective notes from meetings.
  • Understand how to analyze the timelines, dependencies and its importance for mitigating issues/risks.

  • Knowledge of Core Network, Connectivity, power systems and deployment of new investments and infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting programs and projects utilizing the small to mid-size projects.
  • Delivery Model Opportunity to implement technical writing and problem-solving skills.
  • Learn from a diverse group of project managers and mentors in the organization.
  • Develop strong organizational and effective time management skills
  • First-hand experiences through site visits and in-field information sessions

Selection Criteria:

  • Currently in 3rd year of a 4-year IT/Business/Engineering program.
  • A valid driver's license. Requires knowledge of technical writing to prepare effective reports.
  • Requires knowledge of business administration and financial reporting.
  • Requires mathematics, information technology, analytical studies related to the application, design, and performance of the core network/connectivity technologies.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member with a demonstrated ability to be an agent of change.
  • Requires strong working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office (Visio/Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Microsoft Project etc.
  • Requires excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
